REVIVE 5.0 – Evaluation, Lessons Learned, and Looking Ahead
Introduction
The REVIVE 5.0 project aimed to disseminate the human-centered components of the Industry 5.0 vision in SMEs by developing innovative practices in the fields of emotional intelligence (EI), cultural diversity, and inclusive human resources management. From its inception, it has gone through multifaceted stages such as material development, the e-learning platform, the digital game, piloting, dissemination, and quality assurance. As we enter the 24th month, it is important to evaluate the achievements, challenges encountered, and recommendations for sustainability.
Achievements
Content Development and Training Materials:
Modular training materials prepared for HR professionals successfully covered key topics such as emotional intelligence, intercultural communication, and inclusive recruitment.
The translation process of the materials was completed, and they were made available in different partner languages.
E-learning Platform and Digital Game:
The e-learning platform enriched the online learning experience with interactive tasks and assessment tools.
Through the digital game, simulations of real-life cultural and communicative situations reinforced learning.
Piloting and Feedback:
Pilot implementations were carried out in various SMEs and vocational training institutions.
User feedback identified areas for improvement in content and platform experience, contributing to quality assurance.
Dissemination and Awareness Raising:
Seminars, website publications, and articles organized within the project increased awareness of emotional intelligence and cultural diversity.
Sharing of good practices among partners and capacity-building activities led to improvements in overcoming logistical and technical barriers.
Lessons Learned & Challenges Faced
Technical and User Experience Issues: Some users reported challenges related to platform access, mobile compatibility, and interface navigation.
Need for Language and Cultural Adaptation: Some materials required more local examples and case studies to better align with cultural contexts.
Engagement and Motivation: Sustainable participation required mechanisms to boost motivation (rewards, certificates, community support, etc.).
Timing and Resource Management: There were some delays in coordination and adherence to timelines among partners; efficient resource management proved crucial.
Recommendations for the Future
Sustainable Dissemination Strategies: Develop business models to ensure the continued use of materials, the platform, and the game after the project ends. Strengthen collaborations with local partners, chambers of commerce, and educational institutions.
Content Adaptation and Localization: Increase local examples, case studies, and case analyses. Review both linguistic and cultural translations.
User Experience and Technology: Ensure full compatibility with mobile devices and consider accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). Feedback and error-reporting mechanisms should be more accessible and visible.
Motivation and Community Building: Provide incentives such as certificates, badges, and community events. Encourage sharing among participants through user-focused forums or community groups.
Policy and Institutional Integration: Integrate project outputs into SMEs’ HR policies. Engage with global and local policymakers to ensure project outputs become a standard in the business world.
REVIVE 5.0 has taken significant steps in bringing the human-centered vision of Industry 5.0 to SMEs. Over 24 months, the project has increased skills development, awareness, and implementation capacity at both individual and institutional levels. However, to ensure sustainable impact, the improvement areas mentioned above should be addressed; the project’s dynamism and lessons learned should be transferred to institutions and stakeholders in a way that leaves a lasting effect even after completion.
